About the project

Now is the time of monsters (2025) is Studio L’Narte’s first collection of garments and textiles featuring patterns by Amandah L’Narte. The collection was developed through pre-orders and co-creation, with the aim of allowing production to follow actual demand.

The collection grew from the experience of a world that seemed to have been turned upside down. Trust, courage and love are pushed aside while fear and destructive forces are given more room. The title places the collection between an old world that is disappearing and a new one that has yet to find its form. Chaos before order. A time for monsters.

The way the collection was made was an important part of the project. Instead of manufacturing a complete stock in advance, the garments were available to pre-order. This created the financial conditions for production and made it possible to avoid producing more garments than there was actual demand for.

Family, friends, future customers and collaborators were also invited to take part in the creative process. They could pre-order and wear garments from the collection, buy Amandah’s printed fabrics and make their own clothes, or contribute to the creation of showpieces. Konrad L’Narte built the temporary wooden sculpture together with participants in the project.

The patterns were printed on viscose, organic cotton and ECONYL using reactive digital printing. All garments were made in Stockholm.

On Saturday 14 June 2025, the collection was shown at House of Peacocks. The following day, the participants gathered in Nacka Nature Reserve for a collaborative photo shoot with Klara Granberg. Bodies, garments, textiles and constructed objects came together in a visual world where the class photograph met sculpture, community, wilderness and freedom.

Betsey Gusman documented the fashion show at House of Peacocks and the work behind the scenes during the photo shoot on 15 June. Her photographs became part of the collection’s visual launch.
